Who are CQC?

CQC are an independent regulator of health and social care in England and make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and encourage care services to improve.

Their role is to monitor, inspect and regulate services to make sure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety and we publish what we find, including performance ratings to help people choose care.

What are the 5 inspection areas?

We were inspected on the following 5 inspection areas:

  • Is the service safe?
  • Is the service effective?
  • Is the service caring?
  • Is the service responsive?
  • Is the service well-led?

The inspector has reported they felt we were “GOOD” in all the above criteria and gave us an overall good rating.

What were the comments from service users?

We were given some wonderful feedback from both the inspector, clients and our care team. Here’s just some of the responses from our service users:

“It’s the first time I’ve ever come across a company that has listened and take on board what we want. I’m very impressed, and I don’t give praise lightly.”

“Safe? Yes. The carers in place are absolutely brilliant and they don’t take risks.”

“They do everything and they do it all good. I know who’s coming through the door and when. They’re always on time.

“They [staff] make me feel comfortable in every way. They’ve been amazing. They’re everything I want in a carer.”

“Staff are very polite and accommodating. Their standard of care is very high. They listen.”

What does this mean for Essential Care Group?

While we are delighted to have received a ‘GOOD’ rating, we want to work even harder on improving our services and raising the standard of care for all existing and potential service users.

The comments and feedback have been amazing and we’re already excited for our next inspection so we can prove that we deliver an outstanding service!
