Essential Care Group supported children’s charity Variety as they hosted a Variety Great Days Out event for disadvantaged children at Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
The event, which took place in Doncaster invited schools from all around Yorkshire to visit the wildlife park to see the animals, interact with the wildlife and learn more about their habitats.
2016 marks the 50th anniversary of Variety Great Days Out, an initative hosted by Variety which offers day trips for free for children from special needs schools.
Essential Care Group provided volunteers who supported by working the refereshment stalls, providing information and helping with any requests. This is the second time Essential have supported Variety this year, having already sponsored two models at their fashion show event in Leeds.
Paula Chamberlain, Managing Director of Essential Care Group said: “It was fantastic to help Variety support these children and offer them a brilliant day out, caring is in our nature at Essential so when we first heard about this event we wanted to get involved as much as we possibly could.”
“We’re all pleased the event went really well and the children had a lovely time, the high standards shown by Variety and ourselves in organising and delivering a Variety Great Days Out is something we aim for every day in our business.”
Helen Cornell, Appeals & Accounts Administrator for Variety, Yorkshire division said: “Our Variety Fun Day was a huge success, largely thanks to all the people who volunteered their time from Essential Care Group. The volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure that all of the 220 children who attended the day had an amazing time.”
“Variety simply could not provide special days like this for children, without the help we receive from our amazing supporters like Essential Care Group, so we are extremely grateful to them.”
