Essential Care Group is proud to support Dignity Action Day, a day designed to ensure people who use care services are treated as individuals and are given choice, control and a sense of purpose in their daily lives.

As a trusted care provider ourselves, we understand the importance of care and how crucial it is to provide a high standard of care whether it’s for children or adults and no matter who uses our care service, they are treated as individuals.

Over 2 million health and social care staff in the UK work around the clock to provide support and care for those in need and we’re honoured to be a part of that statistic. But we know treating our clients with dignity is crucial to help them have the quality of life they deserve.

That’s why Essential Care Group are a Dignity Champion which we were awarded by the National Dignity Council, because we believe passionately that being treated with dignity is a basic human right.

Dignity Champions have to pledge to the following and we are committed to making sure that we:

  • Uphold the ten dignity to do’s
  • Stand up and challenge disrespectful behavior rather than tolerate it
  • Act as a good role model by treating other people with respect, particularly those who are less able to stand up for themselves
  • Speak up about dignity to improve the way that services are organised and delivered
  • Influence and inform colleagues
  • Listen to and understand the views and experiences of citizens
